Evelyn McFarlane Evelyn McFarlane is an architect and painter, living and working in Florence Italy. Born in Brooklyn N.Y. and was raised on Long Island and San Diego. She returned to the east coast to attend the architecture school at Cornell University, and graduated in 1985. Ms. McFarlane worked as an architect in Massachusetts and New York City. She then taught at Syracuse University in the school of architecture both in Syracuse N.Y. and in Florence, where she finally got back into her life long love of drawing and painting. In 1996, she decided to follow her heart into painting and began her studies of drawing and painting at the studios of the Florence Academy of Art, under the direction of Daniel Graves. After three years, Ms. McFarlane began painting in her own studio and has resided in Florence ever since. Her passions are art and architecture of the renaissance, and she lectures on architecture and drawing for various programs in Florence. She is also a co-author of a series of books entitled, If.... Questions for the Game of Life. Evelyn McFarlane has works available in Gold Leaf Designs & Gallery, Chattanooga, Tennessee; The Brigham Galleries, Nantucket; FMR, Florence Italy; Peel Gallery in Vermont, Century Gallery in Alexandria; Bert Gallery in Providence, as well as works in private collections.
