Kathleen Mack
Kathleen Mack, a native of Flint Michigan received a BA and did graduate work in Philosophy at Marquette University. In 1980, she moved to Maine with her husband and two children. During her ownership of Pemaquid Floorcloths, Kathleen discovered art and started painting in 1993. Kathleen paints in oil and water media and sculpts in wax and stone. Primarily, her interest is in the human figure, alone and in relationship to other figures and surroundings. The gesture is all important. Kathleen feels fortunate to have found work that drives and satisfies her, that removes her from the everyday and puts her in a place where there is no clock, no day, no night. Sometimes the result of striving for the simplest means of expressing an idea or reaction brings a sense of accomplishment. It is a process that will hopefully last a lifetime.
