The design, construction, and water gilding of custom frames to complement interiors and works of art is an important facet of Gold Leaf Designs & Gallery.

Early in his career as a craftsman, Alan Shuptrine was already designing and crafting frames for prestigious installations, including twenty-eight Henri Matisse original works. He has since served collectors, galleries, and museums throughout the United States.

Frames by Gold Leaf Designs & Gallery now adorn paintings by such prominent artists as Edward Hopper, Andrew Wyeth, Hubert Shuptrine, Elliott Daingerfield, Stephen Scott Young, Alice Ravenel Huger Smith, and numerous others. The opportunity to work in collaboration with artists and art collectors is an important part of the service offered at Gold Leaf Designs & Gallery. Alan states, "Since we build frames from scratch, and since every frame is one-of-a-kind, the possibilities are endless, and no order is beyond our reach."
