2010 Gallery Hop September 11th, 2010 Wander the galleries of Downtown Chattanooga, as its galleries put and open your eyes to the art and artists dwelling within this city. The cultural grazing starts at 2 and ends at 9 pm. While you're out, swing by Shuptrine's for a children's art workshop from 12-2 on "Freedom ~America!!" with little ones doing hand painted items in Americana theme with our artisans and with Alan . Children can come have fun in the working gallery while their parents shop, bring a bag lunch, etc, ($30.00 and PRE SIGN UP is mandatory, no drop ins. ) per child~ Then Tennessee Watercolor Society's Artist’s reception coordinates with the city wide Gallery Hop from 5-7pm. TWS Exhibit: "Americana Freedom" September 10 Through October 19, 2010 We are pleased to announce a special juried exhibition of the Tennessee Watercolor Society. The exhibition will call for artists to represent their thoughts of Americana, patriotism, nostalgia and freedom. Lois Riggins-Ezzell (Executive Director of Tennessee State Museum in Nashville) and Leigh Hendry (Director of External Affairs, also from the Tennessee State Museum) will be the jurors. AN ARTIST WORKSHOP Saturday, April 17th, 2010 10 am to 2:30 pm $200 per Student Join us in April, for a one day gilding workshop, with Alan Shuptrine.
This beginner’s class will teach the basics of the centuries-old method of water gilding.
Students will learn how to sgraffito designs, agate burnish, and patinate
the finish.

AN ARTIST WORKSHOP Saturday, March 13th, 2010 10 am to 5 pm $150 per Student This March join us as Shuptrine’s Fine Art & Gold Leaf Designs will be hosting a workshop, instructed by portrait artist Mia Bergeron. Students will work to hone attention to proportions, color mixing, composition, lighting, and will be working with a live model.
