Curtis Jaunsen has a studio in a small town in central Mississippi where he works on still lifes and portraits. His landscapes are done in the great outdoors in the ‘plein air’ tradition, from locations as varied as the marshes of coastal Mississippi, to the sun bathed hills of Tuscany. Though his paintings include many different subjects, all are bound by his deep love for beauty and his profound respect for truth.
Portraits are painted with the finest oil paints and are executed on oil-primed linen. Mr. Jaunsen works from life, or photographs that he has either taken or approved. The fee schedule allows for the figure to be painted approximately life size.
Returning to the studio, Mr. Jaunsen finishes the portrait in approximately six months’ time. During that time, Mr. Jaunsen keeps the client up to date on the progress of the portrait. The portrait is delivered to Gold Leaf Designs & Gallery framed for final approval.
